TacoChess Discord bot — privacy

The TacoChess community Discord has a bot (@TacoBot) that answers questions from this Help Center.

What the bot stores

• Your Discord user ID (for DM pairing and role-aware answers)
• Recent message context in the channel where you mention the bot (the last 5 messages, used to give the AI context — discarded after the reply is sent)
• A 30-day rolling window of DM conversation context (so it can answer follow-ups in a thread)

What the bot does NOT store

• Discord messages you do not @mention the bot in
• The contents of channels the bot is not in
• Your IP address or device info

Where the AI answers come from

When you ask the bot a question, it searches our public Help Center articles via xAI Grok Collections and answers strictly from what it finds. It does not invent answers.

Opt out

DM /unpair to the bot. We delete your pairing record + the rolling 30-day context within 24 hours.
